—Sole design with new pattern improves capability to prevent adherence of snow—
Daicel-Evonik’s (Head Office: Shinjuku, Tokyo; President: André Noppe) composite film R-COMPOâ has been adopted as shoe sole material of REGAL CORPORATION’s (Head Office: Urayasu, Chiba; President: Kojiro Iwasaki, hereinafter referred to as REGAL) functional men’s boots "REGAL Walker 284WBBW" which will be sold from this fall and winter.
Having improved its performance in the sport shoes segment and also increased adoption in the men’s shoes industry, the highly functional material R-COMPOâ has been employed for the shoe soles of men’s boots for the first time. Its new sole pattern suppresses adherence of snow to the sole on the snow surface, thereby demonstrating excellent grip force as a conventional performance. R-COMPOâ satisfies demands in all seasons and various scenes and meets performance needs of functional shoes.
In addition, employment of lightweight material R-COMPOâ has achieved a weight of about 280 g per shoe, which is lighter than a typical men’s shoe. The lightness of the feet supports businessmen on rainy or snowy days in winter.
Highly functional polyamide resin and composite film R-COMPOâ, which consists of highly functional rubber developed for shoe sole, satisfy both grip performance against dry and wet road surface and snow surface, and wear resistance. Also, since R-COMPOâ adopts K&K technology, which does not use adhesive for bonding resin film and rubber, the number of bonding processes is reduced, making is environmentally friendly.
