Daicel-Evonik‘s (Head office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: André Noppe) PEEK resin VESTAKEEP Care has been adopted by Hakuho Corporation (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo: President: Sadaharu Hatakeyama), Japan’s leading dental materials manufacturer, for the scan body used with intra-oral digital scanning.

Conventionally, scan bodies were made of imported PEEK resin or other materials that required pretreatment of the target area, including spray atomization, to prevent halation of the scanned image. The use of VESTAKEEP Care for the scan body not only eliminates the pretreatment process, but also improves the scanning accuracy, because the resin allows the scan body to have a fine color and surface texture that reduces halation. Moreover, the hybrid use of VESTAKEEP Care and stainless steel (SUS) for the base of the scan body facilitates torque handling when a dentist attaches the device to the implant before scanning.

To alleviate patients’ discomfort during dental treatment and to earn even higher trust from customers, Daicel-Evonik will keep pursuing high-quality materials and technical support.
