◆TROGAMID® T - Polyamide 6-3-T

TROGAMID® T - Polyamide 6-3-T The chemical structure of TROGAMID® T places it in the class of amorphous polyamides; it is therefore transparent (ISO 1874 designation: PA NDT/INDT). The amorphous structure also results in low mold shrinkage and low tendency to warp. In addition, the compounds are distinguished by the following properties:

  • crystal-clear, high optical transparency
  • high mechanical stability
  • high heat deflection temperature
  • high impact strength
  • good chemical resistance compared to other plastics
  • good electrical properties
  • low mold shrinkage

Thanks to this special combination of properties, TROGAMID® T is used in many branches of industry: for example, in electrical engineering for high-voltage switch casings, battery seals and relay casings, in filter technology for filter cups, pump casings and inspection glasses, and in machinery and engineering for flow meters, liquid-level indicators, and valve blocks and common control blocks for dispensing and metering equipment.




◆TROGAMID®BX - Blends Based on PA 6-3-T

Blends Based on PA 6-3-T The TOGAMID® BX grades cover reinforced and non-reinforced blends based on PA 6-3-T and semi-crystalline polyamides. Non-reinforced blends are permanently transparent. Some blends have been developed in particular for manufacturing plastic-rubber composites.

The special characteristics are:

  • high resistance to stress cracking
  • resistant to grease and fuels
  • good strength
  • high hardness
  • very low mold shrinkage
  • very low tendency to warp
  • low moisture absorption
  • dimensionally stable even while absorbing water

The polyamide blends are especially suitable for the production of injection-molded parts subject to high thermal and mechanical stress. Thanks to their high stiffness moldings made from reinforced grades are appropriate for substituting cast metal parts, and are significantly lighter than these. Moldings exhibit outstanding surface qualities in spite of their high glass fiber content. TROGAMID® BX compounds can be combined with various rubber mixtures to produce plastic-rubber composite parts that are resistant to fuel and oil.




◆TROGAMID® CX - Polyamide PA PACM 12

polyamide_pa_pacm_12 TROGAMID® CX compounds round off the product range of Daicel-Evonik to include semicrystalline polyamides, the crystallites of which are so small that they do not scatter visible light - a property known as microcrystallinity. The compounds are therefore as clear as glass. They possess higher resistance to chemicals and stress cracking than amorphous transparent plastics, in addition to the mechanical advantages of amorphous compounds.

The outstanding properties of TROGAMID® CX are:

  • crystal-clear, permanent transparency; high transmission
  • superior chemical and stress cracking resistance
  • high level of UV resistance
  • low water absorption, which leaves the mechanical properties virtually unaffected
  • high dimensional stability

  • high glass transition temperature
  • very low isotropic shrinkage

The unique combination of properties in TROGAMID® CX compounds permits their use over a broad application spectrum. Areas of application can be as diverse as water management, filter technology, laboratory and medical technology, the manufacture of eyeglasses, or bottles for the cosmetics industry.




◆TROGAMID® myCX resin

TROGAMID® myCX resin TROGAMID® myCX is the only transparent microcrystalline polyamide on the market. It consists of micro-sized crystals embedded by a unique long-chain aliphatic polyamide and combines the beneficial properties of both, semicrystalline and amorphous resins. This is the reason for TROGAMID® myCX’s outstanding chemical and physical properties, which translates into extremely high durability, safety and comfort of the sunglass lenses made from TROGAMID® myCX.

TROGAMID® myCX is particularly characterized by following material properties.
