Daicel-Evonik’s Glass Fiber-Reinforced Grade PEEK Resin VESTAKEEP Adopted in ANSI Bolts for the U.S.

  • The glass fiber-reinforced grade PEEK resin VESTAKEEP ANSI (inch size) bolts adopted by Nippon Chemical Screw & Co., Ltd.

The glass fiber-reinforced grade PEEK resin VESTAKEEP® from Daicel-Evonik Ltd. (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Andre Noppe) has been adopted by Nippon Chemical Screw & Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; President: Mr. Fumio Hanji) for use in their ANSI (inch size) bolts for the U.S. market.

 

The bolts using glass fiber reinforced VESTAKEEP®, which manufactured by injection-molding process, have following properties that meets the requirement for medical diagnostic equipment.

1.  High resistance to chemicals;

2.  Superb resistance to sterilization processes;

3.  High resistance to heat;

4.  MRI-compatible non-magnetic characteristic

 

Bolts from this VESTAKEEP® resin have 30% higher strength when compared with those from conventional PEEK resins. Daicel-Evonik aims to expand the resin’s application beyond medical uses towards the light electrical appliance, automobile, aerospace, and semiconductor industries.
