Daicel-Evonik Ltd. (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, President: Andre Noppe) is pleased to announce that we are ready to start selling  “TROGAMID® Care”, new medical grades of our transparent nylon resin “TROGAMID®” series.

 

In addition to having such superb biocompatibility as that of conventional  “TROGAMID®” （being compliant with USP classⅥ）, “TROGAMID® Care” has the same level of transparency and impact resistance as polycarbonate, but  has more excellent chemical resistance and weatherability than polycarbonate. Thanks to containing no bisphenol A (concerns about its adverse effect on human health have been recently raised again), this clear resin can be used in a much safer way for medical use.

 

“TROGAMID® Care” is a medical grade product that has been developed as a more effective replacement for “TROGAMID® CX7323” and “TROGAMID® CX9710”, both of which have been so far used in medical devices. This new grade was born as a result of practicing strict manufacturing process management. “TROGAMID® Care” series has four grades including: MX73, which is a standard grade; MX97, which is a grade with good mold release properties; MX73L, which is transparent but, nevertheless, being able to undergo laser marking and laser welding; and MX73A, which contains antimicrobials.

 

Characterized by its excellent clearness and impact resistance, “TROGAMID® Care” serves as a safe and reliable material and further covers a wide variety of applications, which include not only use in a catheter hub, three-way cock, and needle hubs, but also use in various types of housings such as a dialyzer casing, connectors, etc.
