R-COMPO, a composite film distributed by Daicel-Evonik Ltd., has been adopted as the sole material for RC1300v2 and RC1100v2, which were recently released by New Balance Japan (headed by Tomoo Tomita with its headquarters in Chuo-ku, Tokyo).

The soles of the previous RC1300 and RT1100 models are also made of R-COMPO. The advanced RC1300v2 and RC1100v2 models, meanwhile, boast excellent gripping performance thanks to R-COMPO, with an elastic material providing high impact resilience, thus contributing to improved running performance.

In fact, a number of athletes selected RC1300v2 and RC1100v2 for major races at the beginning of this year.

R-COMPO is a composite film made up of polyamide resin and rubber, the amount of which is adjusted to achieve a balance between gripping performance and abrasion resistance. With the use of nylon film with  low specific gravity, moreover, it can reduce the weight of the shoes, while providing users with the functions they need. In addition, the resin layer and rubber are directly bonded to each other with K&K bonding technology, which is used primarily in the auto industry. K&K bonding technology does not require adhesives, which simplifies production and makes it environmentally friendly.

Daicel-Evonik is committed to providing quality technical services and delivering products with consistent quality in an effort to achieve higher reliability, offering a variety of resin products to meet the development needs of customers.
