Eyeglass Frames |
|
A wealth of design possibilities and a high degree of comfort for the wearer are just two good reasons for opticians and eyeglass manufacturers to choose frames made of TROGAMID® CX.
- The compound allows more freedom in design than traditional plastics and permits filigree frame constructions that have so far been possible only with titanium.
- The eyeglass frames are extremely light and flexible, and adjust to the individual shape of the wearer's head.
- At the same time, they are sufficiently rigid for secure and permanent custom-fitting of corrective lenses.
- They are highly resistant to breakage, even when subjected to extreme deformation. This is an important plus for children's eyeglasses and sports glasses.
- TROGAMID® CX is resistant to all the media with which it is expected to come into contact, such as skin substances, care cosmetics and decorative cosmetics, perfumes, and cleaning fluids.
- The compound is non-allergenic. Even bonded joints and screws can be made from TROGAMID® CX to prevent metal allergies.
- Novel screwless joining systems allow wearers to change various components of the frame conveniently, whether to keep up with the latest fashions, or simply on a whim.
Processings
- On account of its neutral inherent color, virgin material can be brilliantly colored, particularly for transparent frames. Coating is not necessary for coloring purposes.
- Variously colored regrind can be treated with a specially developed color batch and used, without any adverse effects on mechanical properties, in frames in muted, dark colors.
- It possesses properties guaranteeing uncomplicated and efficient processing.
- Frames made from TROGAMID® CX modified with a laser-sensitive additive is individually, rapidly and simply laser-markable.
