For more than 30 years, VESTAMID® L compounds have been successfully used as a material for the fuel lines of big-name automobile manufacturers. Worldwide, VESTAMID® L is the most widely used polyamide 12 in fuel lines. We achieved this position thanks to
- consistently high product quality
- dependable delivery and excellent service
- innovative solutions in the further development
VESTAMID® compounds are used to manufacture fuel lines consisting of both monowall tubing and multi-layer tubing.
- We responded to the different requirements of a variety of automobile manufacturers by developing a series of extrusion compounds in subtly different gradations.
- Most of them are suitable for both gasoline and diesel fuels.
- For vehicles with elevated engine compartment temperatures, we have designed special high-temperature resistant compounds particularly for use in gasoline or diesel systems.
- Our compounds for multilayer tubing are optimized so that they can be extruded at speeds comparable to those of monowall tubing.
- Certain multi-layer tubing designs use no adhesion promoters and can be further fabricated nearly without having to change the usual monowall tubing technology.
- We provide eight multi-layer tube systems with various barrier layers; other are under development.
- For inexpensive quick connection of fuel lines we offer reinforced and non-reinforced, partially weldable VESTAMID® L and VESTAMID® D compounds for quick-connect fittings and their internal retainers.
- For fuel filters VESTAMELT® hotmelt adhesives allow filter elements to bond reliably. Filter end caps made of VESTAMID® L offer excellent flexibility in addition to outstanding resistance. They serve as sealing elements if constructed for this purpose, making it possible to dispense with additional O-rings.
Additionally to all developments of tubing compounds we offer substantial services:
- technical support
- development of test methods
- testing under contract (or referral to suitable companies/institutes with which we cooperate)
- assistance with permitting procedures
- mold and tool design
- assistance with equipment selection, acquisition and startup
- operational training for customer employees
- assistance/consulting in the development of standards and specifications
- development of customized compounds for special uses
